Do not compare yourself
to your role models.
Work hard and wait for the moment
when others will compare them to you.
My motto
Welcome

My name is Martin Perhiniak. I’m a 25-year-old Hungarian graphic and web designer. I have been working with Adobe softwares since I was 12.

I have always been fond of creative activities. I feel fine only when I have something to work on.

My professional career started 8 years ago with my first webdesign project. I have put great effort in studying every aspect of design and I’m most interested in giving this knowledge to others. I have been teaching Adobe softwares for nearly 4 years now and I became Adobe Design Master Instructor.

Besides live training I made several tutorial DVDs, I often give product demonstrations and I’m a freelance designer.

You can find out more about me under the list on the left under my name and about my work under the portfolio page.

Adobe Certified Instructor

I was inspired to be an instructor by Total Training and Lynda.com tutorials several years ago. I decided to master my favourite Adobe softwares and pass the ACE exams. I started with Photoshop and then I passed Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat and Lightroom ACE exams. Hence I became Adobe Design Master.

At the same time I started to make tutorial DVDs in Hungarian (for the first time in my country) and to give lectures at the official distributor's of Adobe.

Later on I became ACI (Adobe Certified Instructor) at the most acclaimed Hungarian digital media school (www.mesharray.hu), which is an Adobe Authorized Training Center among others. Now I give lectures on every aspect of Photoshop, photography with Lightroom and desktop publishing with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat.

My exams are in Creative Suite 4 but currently I’m testing Creative Suite 5 beta. I’m eager to keep up with the latest improvements in my beloved tools and to show them to my students right away.

MSc in Industrial Design

I graduated in 2009 from Budapest University of Technology and Economics in the Department of Machine and Industrial Product Design. My five years at the university were beneficial in many ways. I have learnt a lot about planning, constructing, team-work, presentation and mostly to be able to use my time super efficiently. I had to work hard but it was worth it.

I had to design many interesting and challenging products. Just to mention but a few: an instrument based on insects’ body parts, a ballista that shoots table tennis balls, a convertible office table, a retro radio and a lot more.

My thesis was about a conceptional innovative e-book design for Apple. I earned excellent grades for my work and my life-sized model was exhibited a couple of times.

Desktop Publishing Expert

During my university studies I successfully graduated from two trade schools for adults. One of them was a desktop publishing course. I have learnt a lot about printing-houses, typography, layout and visual communication.

I was lucky to be able to profit from these studies right after I passed the exam for I received an assignment to work on a magazine. I’m still the layout designer of Nature Photo Magazine since then, which is an amazing online publication (www.naturephotomagazine.com).

These days it is more and more common for publishers to choose the internet to bring out their magazines instead of printing them. It is much cheaper and easier. Fortunately I’m familiar with online publication methods as well as traditional printing.

I love books and I have a huge library of handbooks on design. I have been teaching desktop publishing with Adobe Creative Suite for more than 2 years now and my students like that I always have interesting examples from my own current work.

Multimedia Expert

It is the other two-year-long trade school that I finished during my studies at university. It was mainly about using Adobe Flash Pro, Photoshop and Dreamweaver to create dinamic user interfaces for web, DVDs and softwares.

It was an interesting and a very up-to-date course and I have learnt a lot. My enthusiasm helped me to pass the final exam with good grades.

After graduating form this school I started to experiment with my own tutorial DVD interface and after a while my first 12 hours long Photoshop for Beginners video tutorial DVD was published. Since then I have made several DVDs. I’m currently working on the 6th. In 2009 I won a prize for my series as an Awarded Multimedia Application.

Composer

I started to play the piano when I was 7. When I became 14 I got a guitar for my birthday and from then on I have been playing the guitar too. I was 18 when I started to play the clarinet.

I have learnt classical and jazz music on each instrument. Although I’m a moderately good musician I’m most interested in rythm and composition.

I have always wanted to compose movie scores and with virtual instrument technology and huge sample libraries one can simulate a complete orchestra with their digital piano connected to the computer. It is an amazing opportunity for me to learn more about composition, rythm and melody.

I like connecting music with design all the time. I think one can learn a lot about something if one improves their skills in something else.
